Out and About the School

New Teachers

We are very excited to welcome two new teachers to St Xavier's.

Anna Fraser grew up in Tamworth and moved to Armidale to study at the University of New England. This is her first year of teaching. She is really looking forward to beginning her teaching career at St Xavier's. Anna is teaching Year 1.

Rachel Houlahan has been teaching for 4 years and studied at The University of Newcastle. She taught in Merriwa for 3 years and then went north to Townsville last year.

Rachel is really excited to be teaching at St Xavier's this year. She is looking forward to getting involved in the school and getting to know everyone. She is also looking forward to playing sports and getting involved in the Gunnedah community.

We are also welcoming back Sharon John after being away for two years at Sacred Heart, Boggabri.

Prac Teachers

We are very lucky to have Annerley Fitzsimmons and Mitchell Brandon with us for the next few weeks. Both are Gunnedah locals and are completing work placement for their University degrees. Annerley will be working in Year 4 and Mitchell will be in Year 2.

School Crossing Supervisor

St Xavier's are very excited to finally have a School Crossing Supervisor. The School Advisory Council, the Combined Catholic School's P&F and the School Leadership Team have been working behind the scenes for years for this to happen.

The safety of our children is paramount and with Bloomfield Street becoming busier with cars and trucks, it is great to know that our students will be supervised when using the crossing before and after school.

Please say "Hi" to Mrs Solomon when using the crossing.

Canteen

The canteen is up and running!

They need help on the following days:

1st and 5th Tuesdays of the month

3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month

1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Fridays of the month.

You are only rostered on once per month and it is a great way to meet other parents.

Please contact the office if you are interested in helping out.
