Year 9 Excursion to TAFE for 'Vocational Tasters'

On Tuesday 25th July more than half of the Year 9 students attended the Taste of TAFE experience at the Gordon TAFE in Geelong.

During the day students got to choose from two workshops from a range of the following industries and experienced real-life vocational skills in:

Accounting
Aged Care
Allied Health
Barbering
Beauty Therapy
Community Services
Cookery & Patisserie
Early Childhood Education
Floristry
Graphic Design
Hairdressing
Hospitality & Tourism
Laboratory Technician
Nursing
Remedial Massage
Visual Arts

These experiences provided students an introduction into these career areas and will serve as a basis for further studies, work experience, or even a formal Certificate (VET) course that will ensure continued employment, alongside any future tertiary studies, or to fill any employment gaps throughout their working lives.
