Pemulwuy Music Tour

Trinity's Pemulwuy Music Tour Group travelled to Queensland over the holidays, for the annual Pemulwuy Male Voice Festival. The TC group consisted of boys from Years 6 to 9 who are currently part of the Junior or Middle School Vocal Ensembles.

The Pemulwuy Male Voice Festival began 20 years ago for young men and boys to have a place to sing together as a community and to experience high quality singing in large groups. This year’s festival culminated in a song performed by over 450 male voices from across Australia. Our boys had the opportunity to perform as a school choir and to watch other male choirs with members aged from 10 years to 80 years from around Australia.

The boys travelled to Brisbane for five days during the holidays with Mrs Ann Clarke, Mr Steven Harmer, Miss Kate Pitcher and Mr David Penco. The first two days were filled with rehearsals and showcase concerts, and the boys soon realised how much they could accomplish in such a short period of time. The third day was filled with a sound check and concert at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. The boys were so proud to be part of such an awesome experience.

A huge thank you to the staff who travelled with the boys, with a special shout out to Miss Lisa Krogh who did so much of the administrative work in the background. Thanks also to Mr Darren O’Neill for supporting the trip.

Marimbafest

During the holidays, Senior Percussion students performed in the 2023 Marimbafest, hosted by WAAPA. This is a week-long festival that provides an opportunity for local and international percussionist to showcase their performance abilities in a concert environment.

The Performing Arts Department would like to acknowledge and congratulate all the students that performed, it was a brilliant display of musicality. A special thank you Mr Joey Eng, percussion tutor, and to friends and family for coming along and supporting students' music passion.
