School Based Traineeship Program

The WA public sector School Based Traineeship Program is a fantastic opportunity for students in Year 10 to gain on-the-job experience and build workplace skills, while earning a part time salary.

This year, students can select the agency where they would like to work, helping them find opportunities that align more strongly with their interests and future plans.

  • work on Thursdays and Fridays in a public sector agency that counts towards their Western Australian Certificate of Education;
  • get paid a fortnightly part time salary based on age and the employing agency's agreement and award;
  • complete a nationally recognised Certificate II in Government;
  • are provided with ongoing support from a workplace supervisor to develop valuable workplace skills necessary for future employment.

Applications are open from Monday, 31 July to Monday, 28 August 2023.
