Welcome back!
Hello everyone and welcome back to the school year. I would like to begin by introducing myself, Matthew Suter, as the Year 9 Team Leader. I am excited to be a part of the Kurnai College community and I am looking forward to working cooperatively with all the families of our year 9 students this year to support them to succeed. There will be lots of things for students to look forward to this year and I can’t wait to see the great things that our students will achieve this year. I look forward to connecting with you all during the year ahead.
Term 1 - Focus on time to class and ready to learn
As the Year 9 Students steam towards the legal age to gain employment, teachers and staff maintain expectations that emulate the expectations of the workforce they will someday enter. This term, the focus will be on punctuality and being on time to class with all the required learning materials required for each class. Students that are arriving to class on time will be acknowledged via the College PBS system. Parents and Guardians can support this initiative by ensuring students are leaving for school in the morning in a timely manner and have all the required equipment necessary for each class.
The year 9 project class has been working on artworks about consumerism and the wastefulness in western culture around one use items. They have researched reference images, planned and drawn artworks around pop icons and the elf on the shelf.
If you have any concerns or queries about any of the items mentioned above, Year 9 student matters, or just general inquiries, please do not hesitate to give the year 9 team a call on 51323700 or email Matthew Suter.
