Faith and Wellbeing Assistant Principal's Report

Australian Catholic Youth Festival
On Friday 8 November 2019 a Trivia Night was held in the Wheeler Auditorium to raise money for the students attending the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Perth this December. It was a very enjoyable evening and also raised a significant amount of money for the students attending. A big thank to all the students for their fantastic work hosting the night and to all the parents, staff, family members and friends who came along and supported on the night. A very special thank you also to Ms Michelle Nogueira for her amazing work in organising the evening.
We have recently become aware of the travel and accommodation arrangements for the Festival and will be sending home these details soon. If there are questions, please feel free to contact me at the College.
Year 12 Retreat
In the last two weeks of the year we have FastStart and with this comes the commencement of Year 12 for the Class of 2020. An important part of this is the overnight Retreat for the students to begin their Year 12. On 28 and 29 November 2019 the Year 12 students will be at Lord Somers Camp to take some time to reflect, set some goals for the year ahead, grow closer as a group and invite God into this big year that they will experience together. Parents of the Year 11 students need to respond to the Parent Retreat Permission Slip on PAM and the students also need to bring in a hard copy of the student agreement to their Head of House as soon as possible. The Retreat is a great experience for the students and we are looking forward to this time away together. Any questions about the Retreat please feel free to contact me at the College.
Thursday Morning Mass
There is Mass in the Chapel every Thursday this Term at 8.10 am. This is a great way to start the day and all members of the Nazareth Community are most welcome. Please be aware there is one exception – there will be no Mass next Thursday 21 November 2019 as there is the Year 12 Graduation Mass in the evening.
Looking out for each other
As we move towards the pointy end of the term it is a time when students can start to feel some pressure. We have Pastoral and Wellbeing staff at school, ready to support in any way we can, so please let us know if you feel your child is finding things extra tough at the moment and could benefit from some extra support.
