Learning Assistant Principal's Report

Resource lists for Year 7 - 10 2020
Instructions for accessing the online Resource lists for 2020 have been distributed to all students via email and are also available on PAM Knowledge Banks. Also on PAM under ‘School links’ is a direct link to the Nazareth College Resource lists on the Campion site. These instructions were accompanied by each student’s 2020 confirmation of subject selections. Please note that the actual resources listing for each year level is only available online. Any parents who have difficulty accessing an internet connection are welcome to contact the College to arrange on-site access through our Resource Centre computers.
For 2020 Year 7 – 10 students, the resources list has a compulsory 'Nazareth College Digital Resource' which can only be purchased through Campion. This bundle has the eText resources for the majority of subjects and is essential for each student’s learning. The bundle for 2020 also contains the option for parents to pay an additional cost to receive the print copies of the Year 8 – 10 texts (Year 7 bundle includes all print texts). A listing of Campion store locations is available on the Campion website.
In addition, as part of the BYOD laptop environment for 2020, the College has provided advice about personal learning devices. This 'Learning Technologies FAQ 2019' is available on PAM Knowledge Banks (under ‘eLearning’) and includes the minimum requirements for laptop computers for 2020. Nazareth College has also partnered with JB HiFi to provide discounted prices on a range of suitable laptops for use in 2020 (noting that currently enrolled Years 7 - 11 students may continue to use their current device). Please see the flyer below for access details to these exclusive prices.
FastStart: the first Year 11 & 12 classes for 2020
Immediately following the Year 10 & 11 examinations, the all-important start to VCE and VCAL 2020 commences. For 2020 Year 11 & 12 students, VCE & VCAL classes commence on Monday 25 November. As part of beginning their final year together, the Class of 2020 have their all-important Year 12 Leadership Retreat on 28-29 November.
It is vital to note that the FastStart classes are not an “introduction” to the subjects nor a “trial” period: they are the formal start of VCE classes for 2020, which will include beginning learning and formal attendance requirements. For this reason, VCE textbooks and other resources ordered through Campion are delivered prior to FastStart to ensure all students have all the necessary resources for the start of their 2020 VCE and VCAL classes. These resources can be collected from the College Resource Centre on Thursday 21 November from 10.00am – 12.00pm. The FastStart classes are a compulsory and essential start to your child’s success in their respective VCE or VCAL programs.
As noted in the College calendar available to parents via PAM, the final day of 2019 for all current Year 7 – 11 students is Friday 6 December.
