Cultural Excursion
Last week the Year 3 students visited the Hyogo Cultural Centre.
Students learnt about the shichi go san (7 5 3) festival which is celebrated on 15 November celebrating children turning 3, 5 and 7 years old. Students made their own chigiri e which is a collage picture using Japanese paper and wrote the numbers shichi go san (7, 5 and 3) using the calligraphy brushes. They particularly enjoyed eating their obento for lunch.

Super Scitech
It was probably the best excursion ever and I am looking forward to going there again later in life. Visiting Scitech was a cool experience that I will remember for a long time. Luca Robson 5G
The highlight of the excursion was the Science Fiction section, where we got to see lots of possibilities the future could offer us. There were mind control games and you could draw what you thought the world would look like in 2099! Watching the Maths and Explosions show was great too. The presenter combined maths and explosions by creating a rocket and putting it at different angles to hit a target. The planetarium was awesome as we got to see so many cool planets and what space looks like. It made me dizzy! Raphael Budimlich 5B
A highlight was when we played with little micro coding devices and we were given the task of designing and building a machine that could draw. We used Lego and little device called Mini Bits. This was such a fun experience and we could share our ideas in a group. Sophia Negus 5B
Cookie Creations
As a part of the Design and Technology unit, the Year Fives have been busy researching, designing and creating their own biscuits. Students were lucky enough to use the Secondary Domestic kitchen for the baking experience. The real challenge was to make the actual biscuits look like their initial designs and the students had a great time decorating their biscuits. Everyone was very excited about the final stage of the project - the taste testing!
