Senior School Access Monash meet the mentors

The year 11 and 12 students involved in the Access Monash Mentoring Program met their mentors on Wednesday the 7th of March. They were paired up at the beginning of the session with current Monash university students and spent an hour getting to know each other’s field of study, career goals, experiences with university, as well as personal interests and hobbies.

Mentees commented on how they felt comfortable talking with their mentors and look forward to what they’ll achieve together. However, others found the first session slightly awkward, but are excited to build their relationship over the year.

Some students weren’t able to meet their mentors in the organised session so they joined other pairs to observe how the relationships unfold.

This was the McClelland students’ first session in the program after their induction day at Monash Peninsula and will meet every two weeks for students to be mentored on their career choices and study pathways.
