YEAR 7 NEWS

EPP & EP+

Students in EPP and EP+ gathered together on Friday the 16th of March to start their idea collaboration for their showcase project. They worked together and also independently to brainstorm ideas for their showcase journey over the next few months. Some of the ideas they came up with were writing a novel and illustrating it, designing a modified AFL game and coordinating a dance that develops childrens physical development.

We will meet again early term 2 to further work on the important soft skills required to develop as they work on their projects.

Elevate Education

EP+ participated in a workshop on introducing them to study skills in Year 7. They learnt a range of strategies to help them with effective study techniques including being organised, making a planner and also use of mnemonics. We hope to see these study skills put into action over the year.

SRC Representatives

We would like to congratulate the Year 7 SRC representatives Angus, Brianna & Dylan for assisting on open night on the 6th of March. They used their public speaking skills by running a school tour and answering parent questions on the night.

Reminders:

Winter Uniform – Students must be in their full school winter uniform by week 3 of Term 2. Please contact us if you need clarification on this.

Immunisations are first week back next term – Thursday the 19th of April.

Homework Club – runs every Thursday afternoon until 4:15 in the Year 8 MAX.

NAPLAN – Will be held between the 15th and 17th of May.
