Building Project

Our exciting Building Project has now commenced. The site compound has now been erected in the Alexander Crescent Staff Car Park and has reduced our number of car spots to 32. Our staff are now having to also park at Ballam Park Athletics Ground and Cricket Pavilion as we do not have sufficient parking. I ask that all parents do not enter the school car parks to drop off or collect students as this only exacerbates the problem and adds to the delays. I also ask that both students and parents do not approach or speak with the trades people who are working on the site.

Karin Miller

Over the past 4 weeks, Karin has been at Ashwood College as part of her involvement in the Bastow’s Unlocking Potential course. We look forward to welcoming her back next term and bringing the wealth of experience she has gained from this experience.

Nicky Buckingham – Principal Intern

As mentioned in the first addition of the COG newsletter earlier this term, Nicky Buckingham has been involved with our college as part of Bastow’s Unlocking Potential course. She has had four weeks to immerse herself in a different school and hopefully her time and experiences at McClelland have helped shape the leader she wants to be. On behalf of the McClelland College community I’d like to wish Nicky all the best in whatever the future holds.

McClelland’s parent voice in Canberra

Earlier this week School Council Parent Representative Tracey Hopgood joined a number of other parents, teachers and principals from across the country as a guest of the AEU to speak to politicians about the importance of properly funding government schools. She met with a number of politicians including Tanya  Plibersek (pictured with her) and importantly our Member for Dunkley Mr Chris Crewther. Whilst Mr Crewther has been here on a few occasions to hand out awards and other business, he may not be as aware of some of the important and costly programs we run that support students in our community. She invited him to come to McClelland to find out more about our needs and how he can support us.
