Division Cross Country
2018 Student Reflective comments from the Division Cross Country.
Girls aged 9/10 years
Bridget Brown, Jazmaine Broad, Lily Patrick-Oudeman, Jacinta Holmes, Tessa Warrin
Lots of these students indicated that participating in this event was an amazing experience and that they are already looking forward to doing it again next year! They liked running with and supporting their friends. Congratulations to Bridget Brown who came second in this event and will now compete in the Regional Cross Country.
Boys aged 9/10 years
Nate Warrin, Declan Lowden, Liam Lewis, Patrick Carlisle, Tyler Bodsworth, Brock Jenner, Arthur Smith
Many of the boys were a bit nervous to start with but they generally enjoyed the challenge of running in this event. They also liked running with their friends.
Girls aged 11 years
Keisha Broad, Brianna Inglis-Goodliffe, Gemma Poar
These girls were surprised by the large numbers of students competing in the events. However, this did not deter them as they ran hard and put in their best effort throughout the race. Overall, they thought the run was fun!
Boys aged 11 years
Jay Laffan-Moodie, Jackson Jenner, Kaiden Hodgson, Cody Peatling, Chris Bodsworth
These boys thought this 3000 metres run was pretty hard! However, they enjoyed the experience and showed great persistence. All successfully completed the run.
Girls aged 12 and over
Ainslie Trease
Ainslie thought participating in this event and running with over 100 other students was an amazing experience. The course was very muddy and she was nervous at the start, but she soon found her stride and successfully completed the run.
Boys aged 12 and over
Zac Newby, Xavier Dixon, Benjamin Norman
These boys thought that participating in this event was a fantastic experience. They felt proud of the way they put in their best effort during the race and persisted through the hard patches.
Year 5/6 Winter Sports
Softball Report
On Friday 18th May, the two NPS softball teams played a game to decide which team would take on Katunga South in the next Winter Sport match.
Players from both teams showed excellent skills. All players ran the bases effectively and threw the ball accurately too. A highlight of the game was the valuable contributions made by Xavier Dixon, Kaiden Hodgson, Declan Lowden and Jake Salter.
The final scores indicated that the Lightning Loaders had won the game 18-6, so they will play Katunga South this Friday.

Football Report
On Friday 18th May, Numurkah Primary School footballers played an entertaining game of footy against Strathmerton. The game was played at the Numurkah Football Oval.
All our players played really well. We kicked four goals which was an excellent effort. A highlight of the game was the way NPS players backed each other up and encouraged each other throughout the game.
Best on field: Conner Waites, Colby Miller, Jackson Jenner, Jay Laffan-Moodie, Bayden Parkinson. A special mention to Ben Norman for his goal just before the final siren!
The final score indicated that Strathy had won the game. However, NPS players were very proud of their efforts.

Year 5 NETBALL WINTER SPORTS REPORT
On the 18th May 2018, the NPS Year 5 Netball Team, 5/5 Stars played a game of netball against the Strathmerton Year 5 Team. Our team did a lot of intercepting.
The highlights included Mitchell Harvey’s very good defence and Gemma Poar’s accurate passes and excellent catches when getting the ball down to our end. Even though Strathy won the game we felt very positive when reflecting on the way we played.

Year 6 Netball Report
On Friday 18th May NPS Year 6 netball team played against Strathmerton Primary. Best on court were Breanna Inglis-Goodliffe, Maddi McGraw and Caitrin Harrison.
Breanna shot three goals and played really well. Maddi also played well, throwing the ball accurately. Caitrin defended effectively and played really carefully.
The score was 29-6 their way, but we played fairly and had a great time too. Overall, despite the cold and soggy weather we all played really well. Afterwards, the girls felt pretty proud of themselves for persisting with their efforts for the entire game.
