Bully Bull Ring Performance

Permission forms and payment for this performance were due back today, Thursday 24th May. If you haven't returned your form, please hand it in to the office tomorrow. Some information about what the show covers is below.

 

ABOUT THE SHOW:

The characters all perform their own song & dance numbers to help Bellamy understand different approaches to resolving the issues of bullying. The show focuses on strategies to manage both online and face to face bullying.  We also discuss Emotional Intelligence as Bellamy tries to understand and manage her emotional responses.  Includes lesson plans and a targeted question time incorporating the ideas of programs such as “You Can Do It” & “Better Buddies” just to name a few. Ideal for schools focussing on bullying into the future.

 

Key Themes: Bullying, Cyberbullying, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving, Self-Image.

Curriculum Areas: Personal & Social Capability; Ethical Capability; Heath & Physical Education; Critical & Creative Thinking; Arts.

SHOW SYNOPSIS:

Bellamy the young Bison Bull loves her enclosure at the zoo, but not the other Bison Bulls who bully her.  Being the focus of the “Bully Bull-Ring” is tough for a young Bison when none of the adult herd seem to notice.  Now name callingbeing left out getting roughed up have become part of everyday life. How much can one Bison bear??

Join Bellamy as she escapes her enclosure & travels the zoo learning the animal kingdom’s solutions to bullying. Will she “Rise Above It” like a giraffe or find a “Better Buddy” like the polar bear? Which way works best?

Winter Sport vs Strathmerton

The next Winter Sport games will be held on Friday 25th May. Our Year 5/6 students will compete against Katunga and Katunga South Primary School with the games commencing at 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm. Football will be played against Katunga PS at Numurkah Football Oval. Netball vs Katunga PS and Softball vs Katunga South PS  will be played at Numurkah Primary School. No lunch orders available - as students will be having an early lunch. Please bring  a water bottle that can be refilled and sports clothes as required. Families are welcome to come along and watch.

Life Education Van

Permission forms and payment for this activity are due by Monday 28th May. If you haven't returned yours, please hand it in to the office by Monday.

 

The Life Education Van is part of our Health Education Program, and is a mobile classroom that comes to our school. These visits are a valuable part of our curriculum and all students are expected to attend.

 

Class sessions will take place on Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th of June.  

 

Below are the names of the programs each grade will be attending.

 

The cost of the visit for each student is $9.00 (which includes a student workbook). Full payment is due by Monday 28th May.

Uniform Reminder

Please ensure jumpers/jackets are clearly labelled, so that we can return them. We have had a number of jumpers handed in to lost property that are not named. If students are missing their jumper please remind them to check lost property in Room 5. Sometimes students will accidently take home the wrong jumper, if this happens please return them as soon as possible.
