Religious Education

Pope Francis

At the beginning of the year,  Pope Francis challenged us to embrace a year that "will be a journey of hope and peace, not through words, but through daily gestures of dialogue, reconciliation and care for creation” in 2020.  This will be a theme that the Social Justice Leaders and myself will endeavour to share with the community.  In particular we  will work closely with Miss Ireland and the Sustainability Leaders and The Indigenous Perspectives team to enact it.

Year 3 Reconciliation Family Faith Night

Next Wednesday 19th February, the Year 3 students and their families will be participating in a Family Faith Night, in preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This will commence at 7pm sharp and conclude at 8:00pm.  It will be held in the Year 3 classrooms. The purpose of this family faith night is to work in collaboration with parents and their children, as we all focus on turning back towards God, saying sorry and more importantly showing forgiveness. The students have been exploring Reconciliation through the parable of The Lost Sheep.

Year 4 Sunday Mass 16th Feb 5:00pm

All of the Year 4 students and their families, are warmly invited to attend Mass this Sunday. Thank you to those in Year 4 for baking cakes and slices for the cake stall, and to those who purchase the delicious items.  It is important to celebrate Mass together as a St Finbar's family, sharing our faith and traditions.  All proceeds from the cake stall go towards educational needs for the Year 4 classes.
