Principal's Report

Congratulations and Best Wishes Year 12 2018

Last Wednesday’s Celebration Day festivities celebrated the conclusion of formal classes for our Year 12 students in a wonderful spirit of Joy, Gratitude, Respect and Humour. It was fantastic to see so many students, staff and parents sharing in the joy of the teamwork that has been so beneficial to the students over the thirteen or so years of their formal schooling.

Well done and thank you to those who helped organise the celebrations.

From Thursday however, everyone refocussed on the exams which start this Wednesday with the English exam. Much preparation and study is being finalised in order to make sure that students are as well prepared as possible for the exams.

We wish the 2018 Year 12 students every blessing throughout the exam period and trust that their preparations will bear rich fruit.

Plenary Council 2020

During my absence the Acting Co-Principals provided some information regarding this council in a previous newsletter (see https://inewsletter.co/veGwW1/st-josephs-college-echuca-issue-fifteen/#/1 ).

St. Mary’s Parish is now in the process of collecting information to pass on to the Council in early 2019. A survey form is included with this newsletter or available for download at this link

Completed forms can be left at the Parish Office, in the collection bags during Mass or at the College Office. Alternatively you may wish to make a direct submission to the Council using the links provided in the newsletter article above.

Some parishioners have attended training in How to Run Small Group Listening and Dialogue Sessions to gather interested people’s thoughts. Please contact Brendan Shingles (0437 941 620) or Christine Sebire (via the Parish Office 5482 1127 ) if you, your family or your group are interested in a small group session to share your thoughts on this significant question.

Remember, this is a great opportunity to have your thoughts collected so that they might influence the direction of our Church in the next few years. Equally if you know someone outside the Parish who has comments that you think might be valuable, please invite them to share those thoughts with someone in the parish.

Term IV

The end of classes for the Year 12 students is a timely reminder to students at other year levels that the conclusion of the 2018 Academic Year is only a few short weeks away. Now would be a timely moment to make the time for a family conversation around how to make the most of the learning opportunities left in this year. Another useful conversation topic would be about how to best fine tune study routines in order to make sure that all work is completed on time and to the best of the student’s ability.

Best wishes to all students, especially the Year 12s.

God bless.
