From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians

Bonjour tout le monde

I hope this email finds all in our community well.  We have just completed week 1 of the Stage 4 lockdown measures that were put into place by the Premier last week.  I would like to thank the parents who have managed to make arrangements to have their children looked after away from school.  This has meant we were able to  reduce the number of staff onsite and  look after the safety of those required to supervise. I would also like to thank the parents for the very kind emails over the weekend. Your support is greatly appreciated.

If there is anything you need to discuss  please contact your child's classroom teacher or myself

Mary Mackillop Prayer Service

A huge thank you to Mrs Reed, Vana and Gabriel for organising and presenting last week's prayer service to celebrate the feast day of Mary Mackillop.  The manner in which they conducted the live online service for our students was  simply amazing. We should be very proud of our RE leaders who were not only articulate but also were able to overcome the technical difficulties.

Caremonkey  re-branding  TO ‘OPEROO’

St Bede's digital forms and operations platform provider CareMonkey, will be rebranding as ‘Operoo’:  The name commenced on Monday August 10th. How you use the service, as well as the ownership and operation of the company, will remain unchanged. You can continue using the system, and its mobile application, as usual. Just be aware that, after Monday August 10th, emails and notifications sent from the system will start appearing under the new name ‘Operoo’. You will also be automatically diverted to the new Operoo website if you go to the old CareMonkey website

Remote Athletics Day

Next Thursday St Bede's will be holding our first ever Remote Athletics Day.  Mr Price and Ms McCausland have put together the program for the day.  Please find a message from them below:

St Bede's whole school Remote Athletics is planned for next Thursday the 20th August. This event is designed as a family event for students to record their best times or scores in some modified events and compete against others in the family and have some fun away from screens for the day.

The link to the event will be uploaded to seesaw on Wednesday night and is already on the PE website on the Remote House Athletics page.

To help run this event you will need; a tape measure, stop watch (or timer from your phone), wooden spoon, rolled up socks, tennis ball or frisbee, a sack and some creative objects for the obstacle course and some house colours to dress up in to take your photo.

We have created a record sheet that you can print or have a piece of paper to record  results before transferring to the google entry form.

As with all activities please do what you can and we have designed this as a fun event that we hope everyone can participate.

Mr Price and Mrs Mac

Have a great week

Brian
