Message From Our

Principal

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

A warm welcome back to Term 3. It was lovely to see all the children back at school and to hear about their holidays. It has been particularly nice for myself and other staff to get the opportunity to welcome the children to school each morning and say goodbye at the end of the day and see how well they have adapted to the many changes to the school routine. So many children are growing in resilience, confidence and independence in ways we could not have imagined. It was also lovely to visit classrooms and see everyone so engaged and enthusiastic about their learning. I hope it is a smooth and productive term for all.

Student Led Conferences are taking place next week. As face to face interviews are not possible, teachers will phone parents who have made an appointment time through PAM. Please see the School News page for further instructions. These interviews will provide opportunity to reflect on your child’s growth and set learning goals. Your role in your child’s learning is very important and after spending several weeks with them during remote learning you are very aware of their achievements and challenges.  This time will enable you, your child and their teacher to review these and set goals and actions for the remaining terms.

Sacred Heart School are currently taking enrolments for F-6 in 2021. After hours appointments and tours can be arranged for families seeking further information about our school. Please contact the office if you are considering enrolment or pass this on if you know someone who is.

Thank you to all our children for wearing our full winter school uniform and thank you to the families for your support regarding this. It is very important that everyone at Sacred Heart wears the required Sacred Heart School uniform proudly and correctly at all times. This includes sports uniform only on allocated days. School photos will be taken next Tuesday and each class is asked to be dressed neatly in Winter uniform – not sports uniform. A uniform list is available on the school website.

Congratulations to Lilly Fidock for having her story, Beyond Earth, shortlisted for the Furphy Literary Awards. This is a wonderful achievement and we wish Lilly well for the award ceremony this weekend.

Congratulations to Jack Young who received this week’s Principal’s Award.  Jack continues to show great resilience, even when things don’t always go to plan and works hard to use strategies to work through problems. Jack strives to do his best and has shown positive growth in many ways. Well done Jack.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to watch over our school community and bless us always.
