A Special Visitor

On the morning of the 17th of March, we had a special visitor from the City of Casey Council. His name is Mr Jayan Chacko, otherwise known as Emil's dad. Mr Jayan Chacko works in the Employment Facility of City Casey Council, and he came to speak about his role at the Council.

He told us a lot of things about the City of Casey Council. It was so cool! We also learned about the rules and the prime ministers of Australia and Victoria. It was very kind of Mr Jayan Chako to come and talk and explain that to us. Some of the 3/4s want to work for the City of Casey someday.

We also learned a lesson about respecting others when they speak or show us something.

We gave our visitor a thank you card. We hope Mr Jayan Chacko likes his card from the 3/4s. It was kind of Emil's dad to come and visit us, so thank you to Emil's dad for coming to Holy Family.

What did we learn?

I learned that ATMs were made by the federal government. - AngelThe Council has an important job. They have graffiti walls so that we don't graffiti on people's houses. - Ella PEmil's dad came to school and showed us how to help him clean up and what they do. He showed us how they decide to make stuff. - TinasheI learned that the Federal Government protects the birds to keep us safe. - DeborahI learned about many things like what you have to do for children and families, such as childcare, kindergartens, maternal and child health, playgroups and immunisation. - Reshan I learned that when you're 18 and over, you can vote. - SarahEmil's dad is the best, and it was really fun to learn from him. - RudyEmil's dad helps people to get a job. - CedricMy favourite part was when he told us all the rules and laws. My other favourite part was when he gave us a chocolate egg and Mrs Elicano gave him a Favourites box, but he didn't want it and he gave it to us. - Jan eI hope we learn more about laws, rules and the government. - Ahjay
