CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

Class Masses are Back!
It was so lovely to have students and families attending the 6T Mass last Friday, 18 March, celebrating the feast of St Joseph, the foster father of Jesus and spouse of the blessed virgin Mary. Thank you to 6T for leading the Mass and all the stage 3 students for the reverence shown during Mass.
St Joseph was a hard working man who worked as a carpenter. He was engaged to Mary who had just discovered she was pregnant. One night, an angel came to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary’s baby was God’s son and that God wanted Joseph to marry Mary and be the child’s foster Father here on earth. Joseph promised to love Mary and the baby as his own and care for him like any father would. And he did! Right through Jesus’ life, Joseph supported Mary and proved to be a positive, loving influence on Jesus. As he grew, Jesus helped Joseph in his carpenter business. Like families today, Joseph and Jesus worked together and helped one another as Father and Son.
- This Friday, 25 March, 4D will lead the Mass for the Feast of the Annunciation of our Lord.
The Feast of the Annunciation of our Lord celebrates the day the Angel Gabriel visited the Virgin Mary announcing that she was going to be the mother of Jesus. Even though Mary did not understand completely, she trusted God’s plan for her life, and she said ‘yes’ to becoming the mother of God and our mother.
7 & 10 Christian Living Days
On the 14 and 15 March, Year 7 and Year 10 participated in the CLD run by The Young Lasallian team.
Year 10's day was titled 'Service. Opportunity. Sacrifice.' This retreat was an opportunity for students to define service, recognise opportunities around them and realise that all forms of sacrifice count.
'Building Communities' was the theme for the Year 7 retreat day. Students had to think about the importance and value of community, and having faith in the broader community and faith in God.
