Message from Senior Coach Adrienne Harris…
At a time when the world seems in a very negative, scared and uncertain place it is nice to know we have developed such a supportive, positive and motivated community within our netball club! I am very proud of how the girls have reacted and responded to the ‘ongoing preseason’ and their attitudes towards getting it done.
Going forward it is unknown for how long we will be sidelined and for just how long this pandemic will last! However what is certain is that we will continue to work hard, stay fit, develop skills and as a result will be ready when ever that may be.
Preseason will remain in deload for a fortnight – giving the bodies a chance to rest while still maintaining a base line fitness. From there (at this present time) we will have 8 weeks to rebuild, increase intensity and get out court work and systems sorted out.
I am looking forward to all we can achieve and what amazing teams we will put out on court after June 1st or potentially in 2021.
Its exciting times down at the nest!
Adrienne Harris is probably the only person in the world who is happy that preseason will continue for another 8-10 weeks (minimum)! Miss Fitness has already begun writing training programs for all CPFNC netballers and players have already started their modified training. We love seeing your pictures during and after your training sessions, keep them coming girls! Post them to our closed Facebook group to remain connected, for a bit of fun and to remain accountable. Could not be any more proud of the community we have!
This year we have so many new faces to our great club which is amazing to see.
Meet Morgan Stapleton – Senior CPFNC Netball Player. Let’s get to know her a bit better:
Age: 19
Playing position: GD and GK
Single or taken? Taken by Jett Bauer
Occupation: Apprentice Carpenter
Why did you decide to play for CPFNC this year? My Dad played for Crib Point when he was younger – Carey Stapleton
How have you found preseason so far? Preseason is great and I’m really enjoying getting fit and getting better but I m convinced Adrienne is trying to kill us!
Initial thoughts of the CPFNC? The club is so friendly and welcoming to the new players and they challenge you while making you feel like you’re supported in a community
Best attribute as a player: I’ll give anything a go
Worst attribute as a player: Definitely how clumsy I am
Sportsperson you admire: Dylan Alcott because he’s a gold medal Paralympian that also hosted on Triple J
What are you most looking forward to in season 2020? Getting better skills because I haven’t trained for nearly 9 years. Another big thing I’m hoping to do is make friends throughout the club!
