Excursions and Incursions

Geography excursion
On Monday 19th August our students braved the cold and wind to venture into Melbourne city for our Geography excursion. We started our day in Federation Square where we were greeted by our tour guides. Groups were then guided throughout the streets of Melbourne, drawing links to why Melbourne has been voted the most "liveable city" and geographically why this is so.
Waterways incursion
On Wednesday 21st August we were lucky to have educators from the Healthy Rivers, Healthy Bay Initiative come and talk to our students about storm water and litter issues in our local area. Students were able to explore and identify different water bugs from samples from our very own Lakewood Lake! Students also discussed the ways litter can travel through storm drains and into catchment areas and why this is having a negative impact on our waterways.
