Humanities Update

Geography
Geography covers many areas including mapping and geographic land forms, understanding environmental issues, exploring human impact and use of land and understanding the similarities and differences between Australian culture and those around the world.
Our excursion to the city earlier this term explored these different concepts and it also reinforced the idea that we are responsible for the future of our local area and the world as a whole. Children were interested to learn how humans have occupied the area known as Melbourne and how this area has changed over time.
We have also explored many Geography based topics as part of STEM too, which highlights the relationship that Geography has with other areas of study such as Science and Maths. Further information about this can be read in the Mathematics Update.
