Ripper Art 2019

Saturday 22nd June

Planning for Ripper Art 2019 is well and truly up and running.

Art Attack 2019 will take place on Saturday 22nd June between 11am and 3pm ... it’s a fabulous family day where children of every age can get involved in art and craft activities.  It’s open to the whole community.  Of course, we’ll have delicious food and drinks on offer.

The delightful Simone Kaplan has taken over as our Art Attack co-ordinator (with great thanks to Miria and Jac for the efforts in 2017), and she is calling on all parents who are interested in getting involved.

You don’t need to be a creative but just willing to help out on the day, are you handy? Have any Arty ideas, contacts for art supplies, help in any way you can!

For the creatives... think outside art installations for the school, fun activities you’d like to coordinate on the day, brainstorming, using your imaginations!  Please email ideas to ripperart2019@gmail.com

Those that can, come meet on Friday morning in the staff room at 9.15/30 on 29th March or 5th April to get together and think through some ideas. All welcome.

If you like the idea of hanging something a little more professional in your home, you’ll enjoy our Ripper Art Auction Evening and the opportunity to bid on around 100 works of art by professional artists.  and the opportunity to bid on around 100 works of art by professional artists.  There’ll be a large variety of pieces on display, ranging from $50 to $2000.  If bidding is not your cup of tea we can guarantee you will be thoroughly entertained by the action on the night.

In the past, the have had the art festival over two days but this year awe are breaking with tradition and the Art Auction will be held on Saturday evening. This allows everyone to view the art on offer during the day of Art Attack to get a great idea of what’s on offer, and we will allow silent bidding to take place during the day for those who can't make the cocktail party.

The fabulous Heidi Skillen is once again co-ordinating the auction.  She is keen to put a call out to all potential artists who would like to submit work and therefore be added to the email list.  If you, or any of your contact would like to be included, please email Heidi at ripperart2019@gmail.com

At the beginning of term 2 your children will begin preparing a piece of art to display in the Art Show.  This is not compulsory but it’s a lovely activity for them to take part in so please encourage them to have a go.  You will have the opportunity to purchase your child’s work, mounted, framed or unframed, for display in your home.  These really are beautiful keepsakes of your child’s primary school years.

As each of these pieces of art will be framed, we are reviewing our framing suppliers. If there is anyone in the school community that can help us out through the supply Framing and mount board at a lower cost, we would be most grateful.

If you are able to donate or source a RAFFLE PRIZE for our major raffle to be drawn on Saturday 22nd June at our Art Show ... please contact SUSIE CONDRON at ripperart@gmail.com It could be vouchers for a restaurant, accommodation, show, experience, beauty treatment or perhaps an item of value.

WE ARE REALLY KEEN TO FIND SOMEONE TO RUN THE RAFFLE – IF YOU ARE INTERESTED…PLEASE EMAIL SUSIE CONDRON AT ripperart2019@gmail.com

Tickets for our Ripper Art events will go on sale early in term 2.  Please get involved where you can.  This is one of the best days in the Ripponlea Primary School Calendar.
