Last Wednesday night Justin Ngu and Youngmo Koo received awards for their amazing achievements in the Hamann School Mathematics Competition for Society of Petroleum Engineers.  It was an informative and interesting night with award winning students having the opportunity to see a talk by a mathematician working in food science, in addition to a presentation on a summer holiday mathematics program in Canberra available to advanced mathematics students who are currently in year 11 (See the website https://nmss.edu.au/ for more information). 

I again congratulate both Youngmo and Justin on their amazing achievement, and encourage all students sitting the Australian Mathematics Competition on Thursday 9 August to set the goal of achieving to their full potential.
