P.E. With Joe

“Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised and more optimistic”

Are you struggling to find the motivation to find a new way to exercise during this time at home?

You might find it useful to check out “P.E. With Joe” on YouTube. This is a free daily (Monday to Friday) online thirty-minute workout which, Joe promises, “will be fun and suitable for all ages … even adults can get involved”.

Joe Wicks has spent seven years as a Personal Trainer and has, over the last four years, visited thousands of schools across the UK presenting High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts. The idea for the free online videos came one week ago, quite by accident. Joe was supposed to commence his latest tour of UK schools just as it was announced that schools were to close due to COVID-19. As students would no longer be having their P.E lessons at school and would be confined to their homes, Joe realised that now it was more important than ever to encourage students to get moving. How? By bringing P.E. into the home.

The videos seem to have been taking the World by storm over the last few days. It is reported that 1.4 million joined in with Tuesday’s workout. The workouts are streamed live at 9:00 am (UK time) but can be viewed at any time.

Joe hopes that his P.E lessons at home will help to provide some structure to the long days at home whilst helping students feel happier and fitter, as well as relieving some of the extra pressures that parents might be experiencing.
