Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Last Day of Term Early Finish

Friday 26th June will be our last day of Term 2 and as normal we will be finishing early.

As we currently have staggered pick up times the timing for F-2 and 3-6 is below:

  • Foundation to Year 2 – 2:20 to 2:30pm
  • Year 3 to Year 6           – 2:30 to 2:40pm

Paperless Student Semester One Reports

On Wednesday 24th June, semester one reports will be emailed out to all families. These reports will report on both the ‘at school’ and ‘remote learning’ at home. Learning progression levels will not be reported upon in line with the Department of Education and Training due to the remote learning from home period. However, we have included a scale of engagement with relevant criteria to provide an overview of the student’s’ learning during this time.

If you are not sure if we have your current email address than please contact the office to check.

Remote Online Learning Feedback Survey

Very soon we will be sending out a short survey (via Konnective) to families to provide important constructive feedback to us about your experiences with the recent remote and online learning.

Feedback is exceptionally important to us and our continual growth at Maramba. It is an integral part of our teaching and learning DNA between teachers to students, students to teachers and students to students. It enables everyone who is a part of the process to develop a clear picture about what they have achieved well and what they need to do next to continue to grow.

We always act in the best interests of our community, sometimes we achieve more than we hoped for and sometimes we don’t quite achieve the outcomes we intended and along the way we sometimes make mistakes. As we say to our students, mistakes are a significant part of learning and if you aren’t making them then you aren’t trying hard enough. Learning from them to improve and strengthen what you do from that moment on is pivotal to your growth and success.

This is why collecting feedback from our community is extremely important to us. Undertaking this process is about listening actively, taking the time to analyse, and then thinking of the best possible solution to perform better. It provides positive criticism and allows to see what everyone can change to improve our focus and results for the benefit of the community.

We hope you are able to take a few minutes to complete the survey to support us in continuing to grow and be the best we can be for our students and community!

I thank you in advance for your time and continued support.

Term 3 Curriculum Day - Monday 10th August

As part of our new 4-year School Strategic Plan and one of this year’s Annual Implementation Plan’s goals, we are focusing on strengthening our professional knowledge and practice of Literacy with a focus on reading.

As part of our strategic direction in achieving this, our staff will be engaging in rich professional development of Fountas & Pinnell Literacy: a comprehensive, systematic design for high-impact literacy instruction. This transformative professional development underpins Fountas & Pinnell Literacy, which includes insightful assessment, effective intervention, practical professional books, and essential classroom resources—to redefine and elevate literacy teaching and learning.

Integral to this is the partnership we have established with Chalcot Lodge Primary School, who we will be collaborating closely with this year and beyond as both schools introduce Fountas and Pinnell. We are all excited about its potential to strengthen our teaching and learning of Literacy and having a positive impact on the outcomes of all students.

Kind regards,

Darren Wallace
