P.E. Update:

It was terrific to see the number of students taking part in their P.E. Learning Tasks last week.  The Prep to Grade 2’s were busy spelling out their name (and spelling words if they dared) with our Name Circuit and learning to listen to their bodies to find out how hard they were working.  From all accounts, parents are working just as hard (if not harder) as their child. Keep up the great work adults and children!

Our Grade 3-6’s are midway through logging seven days’ worth of activities to see if they are meeting the National Guidelines for Physical Activity.  I look forward to seeing these and know that there are number of students who will be going well above these guidelines.

This week sees the completion of our Health and Fitness unit.  I look forward to welcoming back the Preps to Grade 2’s next week for us to start our new unit together and the Grade 3-6’s a couple of weeks later for some fun and games in the gym.

Staying Active:

This week we are taking a look at some challenges set by Cricket Australia to keep up our hand eye coordination.  Remember that you can use a variety of objects around the house if you don’t have an appropriate ball (particularly for inside play).  My favourite alternatives include balled up socks, scrunched up piece of paper, balloon, etc).

Each week in the P.E. Learning Tasks, we give you a link that outlines different links to staying active.  Click here to get some ideas.

Win some prizes for our school:

We have registered our school for a competition with RHSport to win some prizes for the school (P.E. stuff of course) BUT we need your help.  We need as many of you as we can to register, complete their physical challenges and log what you do.
