We Are Getting Closer

We are coming to the end of Remote Learning, with return to school dates now confirmed. On behalf of Mr O’Loughlin, Ms Geddes, Mrs Anderson, Mrs Morgan, Sharon & Raquel, we would like to offer our sincere thanks for the support and encouragement that you have provided to your children, and to the staff. Although a new experience for us all, I’m sure that we’ll all look back on this time with memories to last a lifetime.

Return of Face to Face Teaching

Our Gr Prep-2 students return to the Scotsburn Campus on Tuesday May 26 and the Gr 3-6s on Tuesday June 9. Once students return to school as per these dates, the provision of remote learning for students will cease. The only exception to this will be where there is medical advice explaining why a child should continue learning from home. Should this apply to you, please contact a member of the principal team to discuss.

On-Site Learning

We are pleased to advise that Scotsburn Campus students who have been attending the on-site program at Buninyong will attend the on-site program at the Scotsburn Campus from May 26.

Red Book Box

Please ensure your child returns to school on their first day back with their red book box and materials that were sent home late last term.

Returning of iPads

Information will be coming out very soon for the process of returning borrowed iPads.

Bus Service

The daily bus service for students travelling to and from school will run as per normal.

Safety Measures

The safety precautions and expectations for staff, students and families at the Buninyong campus will also apply at the Scotsburn Campus. Below is a summary:

Social Distancing of Students

Students will work in classrooms as per normal, but we will be:

  • Implementing strong personal hygiene practices.
  • Limiting the use of shared resources. This includes drinking fountains, meaning children will need to have their own drink bottle at school.
  • Limiting the mixing of students between classes. This means that we won’t be holding our Monday morning assembly, daily Spelling Mastery or Friday rotations.

Boost to School Cleaning

All schools have been provided with additional cleaning. That means progressive cleaning throughout the day, on top of the usual end of day clean.

Social Distancing of Adults

Visitors to the school grounds will be limited to those delivering or supporting essential school services and operations.  As such, parents are only to go beyond the school gate if absolutely necessary.  No parents should enter classrooms until further notice.  Please email or phone if there is something you need assistance with. Parents must also be conscious of not congregating outside the school grounds at the beginning and end of each school day.

Caring for our Animals

We would like to say a huge thank you to Issy and Logan’s family for taking such great care of our animals. Pip has had a great time with Issy and the chooks have been well cared for by Logan. Thanks so much.

School Grounds

We have also found time to ensure that the school grounds have been maintained and in some parts, developed. Simon (maintenance man) helped Mr O to ensure that the grass and weeds didn’t get away on us and Rick Innes has been doing some handyman work. When you return, you’ll see a new garden bed at the entrance to the school and new seating in the BBQ area. Rick is also putting the finishing touches on a beautiful new entrance sign and Clinton Le Maitre is assisting Mr O to build a new playground out of the timber from a recent tree that needed to be cut down. A huge thanks to all of these people for the generously donating their time.
