Reconciliation Week

27 May - 3rd June

Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, histories, cultures and futures.

Join In: The Little Long Walk 29 May 2020

In 2004 Michael Long (Ex Essendon Footballer) walked to Canberra from Melbourne to talk to the then Prime Minister John Howard about the plight of Aboriginal people.

We can’t walk together as a large group or with our community this year but we can with our families around our local area

Walk to the local park, around the block, to the shops or just to the corner and back

Create a banner if you like or dress up to promote reconciliation

Create a poster for your home window

3KND – Cool and Deadly radio station 1503AM will broadcast music and speakers such as Michael Long and Nova Peris from 10am – 12 for the event. While you walk you can join in with the broadcast and celebrate Reconciliation 2020
