Birthday Celebrations

To end what has been a very different school term, a special celebration took place this week to recognise all birthdays that occurred throughout the semester for our international students. This was also an opportunity to award completion certificates to the students who will transition from the Language Centre to mainstream at the start of Term 3.

International School Captains, Cassandra Leong and Davidin Ath, opened the event by reflecting on the term and congratulating the international cohort for their efforts during remote learning and on returning to school.

Orientation ‘taster’ Day

This week, all Language Centre students joined mainstream classes for a day to experience teaching and learning with peers in their year level.  This provided opportunities to form new friendships and physically move around the school for their different classes.  I wish all of the Language Centre students the very best with their studies and, on behalf of all of the ELC teachers and International Support Team, thank them for their endurance and positive approach to learning this semester.

School Break – a time to reenergise!

I encourage all of our international students to have a rest over the break and to stay connected with family and friends.  This will also be a time for VCE students to organise a structured homework routine which includes revision, reading and completion of set work/practice tasks in preparation for meeting outcomes next term.

Lucy Wang will return from leave at the start of Term 3. I would like to highlight the wonderful work of Angie Pantelidis with coordinating the program in Lucy’s absence whilst continuing to assist our international students with their well-being.

Take care
