Professional help for separation anxiety

You know your child best. Many things have changed for us this year.

If you’re worried about their separation anxiety, consider seeking professional help. Here are some places to start:

  • your child’s teacher school, or Sonya OBrien.
  • your child’s GP or paediatrician, who will be able to refer you to an appropriate mental health practitioner.
  • your local children’s health or community health centre.

If your child is aged 5-8 years, they can talk with a Kids Helpline counsellor by calling 1800 551 800, or using the Kids Helpline email counselling service or the Kids Helpline web counselling service.

Be Creative Day

On Friday the 26th of June all students, parents and teachers will have an opportunity to show their creativity by wearing their own choice of clothing to school.

Students will be encouraged to make a gold coin donation on the day. All monies raised from our 'Be Creative' day will be donated to State Schools’ Relief

We are fortunate to have access to this organisation to provide us with an opportunity to help support families with uniforms, when they find themselves position where they need assistance. This organisations provide support to any Victorian student attending a government school.

Lily, Leyla and Elki (our student wellbeing team) are organising this activity.

HELPING FAMILIES TO STAY CALM AND OPTIMISTIC

The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® helps parents and carers focus on children’s emotional wellbeing and development, even in times of stress.Triple P Online and Teen Triple P Online (for parents of teenagers) include a wide range of positive parenting tips and strategies. There are also worksheets and videos on handling common issues and supporting children's and teenager's development included in the interactive 8-module online program (6-module program for parents of teenagers).

Both programs now include a special COVID-19 module to help parents stay calm, manage children’s  anxiety and encourage resilience and coping skills during this time.

The State Government has made this service free to all Victorian families.
