Reconciliation week

This week students in F/1 learnt about Reconciliation. We discussed how it is a time for all Australians to reflect on our shared histories and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Students explored the significance of different symbols in Aboriginal cultures and the importance of Caring for country.

Specialist timetable.

F/1 students have started their regular specialist classes every Tuesday.  However, because F/1 students all finish at 3 p.m., the specialist lesson times have been shifted so they are now from session 1 to session 4. 

The classroom teachers will welcome students in the morning at 8:50 and they will dismiss them from their homeroom in the afternoon. Below you can find a visual timetable that you can show students specially for those ones that  might feel a bit anxious.

F/1 Builders program

Our Builder program has successfully started.  F/1 students have been enjoying the different learning experiences, developing not only Mathematical skills but the different Keystones dispositions such as problem solving, collaboration, speaking and listening. New roles have been created within the social groups and we believe these roles will encourage students to continue taking ownership of their learning while practicing the school values such as Care and Responsibility. 

The new roles are The Tasker, The Coordinator, The Timer and The Reflector.
