We are delighted to show you our new mobile shelving which were installed a couple of weeks ago – they look fantastic!

We have been receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and teachers alike, with observations that the library looks a lot more modern and spacious, and that the books seem to stand out more.  The mobility of the shelving also offers us a new level of flexibility with the layout of the library.

In parallel with the shelving changes, we have also genrified our entire collection to make book selection easier.  Fiction books are now shelved in genres rather than alphabetical order.  We have also changed our Non-Fiction Collection to a ‘Book Shop’ layout, where books are shelved in categories.   This was a labour intensive exercise (at least 6 months in the making) that required both physical and catalogue changes to every book, but students have embraced the changes and are finding it a lot easier to find interesting books.

Many thanks to the School Council and Past Students Association for the funding and everyone who helped us.
