Wominjeka Week

Wominjeka Week
Grade 4
We started off our Wominjeka Week Day Camps last Monday by completing Wominjeka art in our learning space. The students used some of the local techniques, patterns and symbols used by Indigenous artists to create their own Wominjeka art piece.
If you happen to visit the office you might just see some of our creations!
The following day we were excited to host Supreme Incursions in the hall. They provided the students with a wide range of team building exercises that challenged the students in various ways. With the use of communication, teamwork and some creative thinking, the teams were able to come up with creative solutions to complete the tasks.
On Thursday we visited the Enchanted Gardens down in Arthur's Seat. We had a great day tree surfing, tube sliding and solving mazes together. It was fantastic to see every student being brave and having a go on the ziplines. Some students even challenged themselves to complete harder rope courses with their friends encouraging them along the way!
We finished off our week with some favourable weather and some fish & chips down at Ballam Park. The students had great fun throughout the week and we'd like to thank the parents & carers that were able to join in with us at different points throughout the week.
Here's what some of the students had to say:
"My favourite part of Wominjeka Week was the treesurfing at the Enchanted Gardens, because I liked climbing on the ropes. I really enjoy being up high and I was able to complete the obstacles with my friends." - Brooklyn MC
"I loved the tree surfing because we had to go through lots of challenging obstacles. When we finished each course we got to finish it with a zipline back to the ground." - Eva
"Definitely the tube sliding because you would go really fast and when you got to the bump on the hill you'd fly through the air!" - Roxy
"Ballam park was great because we were able to play heaps of different games on the playground like tiggy. The fish & chips were awesome!" - Patrick
