Meet the Captain
Tongerlo
TONGERLO House Captain Aleisha's favourite memories of school were created at the Kimberley Immersion. In this 60-second interview she also tells us about a special bond she has with her Head of House, Mrs Rogers . . .
Your SNC highlight?
The 2021 Kimberley Immersion was a real highlight of my high school experience. I was immersed into an environment I wasn't familiar with but along with Ms Kyd and the other students we became comfortable with the people and environment of the Kimberley region. It was a very worthwhile trip, while helping me to help the less fortunate, but also to help me grow as a person. I created lifelong friendships with many people I hadn't really talked too much at school, but I also created bonds with multiple people in the schools in Kununurra that I will never forget.

What are you most thankful for?
For my family and friends and the support that they provide me. I am thankful for all that I have achieved and all that I am able to achieve, due to the support given to me.
One word that describes you?
Determined.
Advice for fellow students?
Take every opportunity you are given the chance to take. Don't hold back because you may feel scared or nervous; I promise you most of these opportunities that you take will be worthwhile and possibly be lifelong memories. Don't be scared to step out of your comfort zone and do things that your friends aren't doing, but also take opportunities with your friends and make memories.
Three people you would like to take to dinner?
Lesley (passed family friend), Shawn Johnson and Aly Raisman
Fellow student most likely to be famous . . ?
Nadia Infirri - she is a music student who is excelling in the music industry already, releasing multiple albums and songs. She works tirelessly on her music and it has shown through her growing numbers of listeners and fans.
Most influential teacher?
Mrs Rogers - she was my Homeroom teacher in Year 7 and 8 and helped me settle in to the College and provided me a support system. She then became my Head of House and was still very supportive to me and all students not only in Tongerlo, but also throughout the school. Mrs Rogers is an amazing role model, who speaks up when is needed, and she has also provided huge support to my family throughout a tough period in 2019 and continues to donate her own time in order to aid me and my family when we need it. She is a very inspiring person to me as I am sure many other students, as her kindness and compassion has influenced my way of life.
