Vermont Secondary College

Year 10 elective ‘Leisure Education – Active for Life’ is a practical and theoretical insight into the role of leisure and recreational pursuits for a range of different groups within the community.

It also provides students with the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in a wide variety of leisure based activities which they could choose to pursue. One of the most pleasing aspects of this subject are the partnerships which are built with various community organisations and the associated positive learning outcomes for our students.

Activities which have been conducted in Term 1 include; Martial Arts, Rollerblading, Lawn Bowls, Archery, Surfing, Bubble Soccer and Tenpin Bowling. Students will continue to build positive life skills throughout the semester with further activities, such as Goalball, Rock Climbing, Yoga, Scuba Diving, and Trees Adventure high ropes.
