During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

 

SubjectLearning Focus
English/ReadingWeek 1&2: We will continue to explore a range of texts that include sounds and heart words as part of our Little Learners Love Literacy program. This week students will be learning to use the diagraph /ai/ and /ay/ correctly. Students will participate in a range of reading activities that will support them in developing their phonological awareness. In particular focusing on learning to read known and unknown texts with fluency and use self-correcting skills.
English/WritingWeek 1&2: Students will be exploring the use of persuasive writing. As well as reviewing and consolidating skills learnt including, sentence structure, punctuation, nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. 
MathsWeek 1&2: Students will be building on their knowledge of addition, in particular reviewing using the double and friends of 10 strategies.
Inquiry (Health)Week 1&2: Students will be investigating how life was different in the past and how families have changed over time.
Social & Emotional LearningWeek 1&2: Students will be reconnecting with their class, participating in group games and tasks.

 

News and Reminders

  • We hope all families had a restful 2-week break and had some quality family time. 
  • Little Learners Love Literacy - Take home books must be returned to school and changed every week, along with their sign in books to be checked by the classroom teachers. If you are having difficulties with this, please contact your child's teacher.
