Principal Class News

Compass Calendar of Events

Being a Principal is exhausting.  The paperwork is immense and the days are long.  But what brings me the most joy is the kids.  This seems obvious but sometimes the other 'stuff' can distract you.  Whenever I have a day where I feel some of the tasks I am doing is a little 'joyless', all I have to do is walk out of my office and I am surrounded by joy.   I would like to share two beautiful moments in my day or recent.

  1. I walked into a classroom and said to the first child I saw "I am here to find joy".  The child looked at me in a puzzled way, looked around the room and said "There is no Joy here".  I laughed internally and said "I am here to find the emotion, not the person".  How cute is this!!!
  2. We continue to encourage our students and community to use the name 'Murrup' to represent spirit (the name of our new buiding).  Some students were doing a Maths activity where they were separating coloured bears into catergories.  Student X said to the teacher "Look what we have made - Murrup" , representing a purple bear in the middle of all the other bears.  Kids are great!!!

Wet weather; change of clothing

Parents are reminded to ensure that students have a spare change of clothes (including socks) in their bag! It's also a great idea to bring a pair of gumboots.  Classroom teachers are happy for these to remain at school and for students to wear them as required.

PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS SENT TO SCHOOL ARE NAMED.

We are all responsible for keeping children safe in our families and communities

If you are worried about a child or young person, it is important to talk to someone about your concerns. You could talk to the parent or another member of the family.  You could bring your concerns to the attention of the school and/or Principal class to guide you in the next steps.

If you have any suggestions for how our school can improve our child safety and wellbeing policies, procedures or practices, please contact the Office.
