"If a book is well written, I always find it too short."

I would like to share with you some beautifully written picture story books that reflect upon the significance of Anzac Day.
In this story a mother and daughter at home in Australia around the time of World War 1 are baking Anzac biscuits and the mother is explaining the history behind these biscuits. This is interspersed with scenes and reports of what it was like to be a young soldier, the child's father, at the battle site.
'Meet The Anzacs' by Claire Saxby, tells us about men and women who have shaped Australia's history including our brave Anzac soldiers.
The CHESS club will resume in WEEK TWO of Term Two on WEDNESDAYS in the library/resource centre. Please complete an expression of interest form if your child/ren would like to be involved.
Northern Star Chess, have invited us to participate in an Interschool Zone Chess Tournament on Tuesday, May, 2nd. More information will be provided at CHESS club next week.
