Education in Faith

Whole School Mass - Friday 28th April @ 9.00am

You are all more than welcome to join us for a Whole School Mass tomorrow morning at 9.00am in the Church. We are fortunate that John Eric-Ighalo from Youth Ministry Music who has been working with our Year 3-6 students will be leading our children in song for this Mass.

Project Compassion - Giving 100% for all Future Generations

All donations collected by students for the 'Giving 100% for all Future Generations' Challenge needs to be returned to their classroom teacher by tomorrow (Friday 28th April) for it to count against their class target.

If your class raises their target amount they get to pour a bucket of icy cold water over their teacher/s.

Sunday Gospel

The liturgy of the Catholic Church provides a framework for reflection which is used by Catholics throughout the world. Each week in the Newsletter, you will find the Sunday Gospel as well as some discussion questions to have with your child/ren.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John

’Jesus said: ‘I tell you most solemnly, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold through the gate, but gets in some other way is a thief and a brigand. The one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the flock; the gatekeeper lets him in, the sheep hear his voice, one by one he calls his own sheep and leads them out. When he has brought out his flock, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow because they know his voice. They never follow a stranger but run away from him: they do not recognise the voice of strangers.’

Jesus told them this parable but they failed to understand what he meant by telling it to them.

So Jesus spoke to them again:

‘I tell you most solemnly,

I am the gate of the sheepfold.

All others who have come

are thieves and brigands;

but the sheep took no notice of them.

I am the gate.

Anyone who enters through me will be safe:

he will go freely in and out

and be sure of finding pasture.

The thief comes

only to steal and kill and destroy.

I have come

so that they may have life

and have it to the full.’

Discussion Questions

1. Whose voice do you know without being told who it is?

2. How can you tell?

3. Jesus speaks to us in many ways. How can we tell the voice of Jesus?

Jesus says that he will always care for us. Let us pray that we may know and love Jesus more closely.
