YEAR 9/10 OES

SAILING CAMP

Sixteen Year 9 & 10 OES students headed to Eastern Beach in Geelong for their sailing camp. The first two days had strong winds, which restricted us to sailing the bigger boats, which had a small motor fitted and more people could be on the boat. However, the motors weren’t needed and students were still able to practice their sailing skills.

Day three saw high winds stick around, but as we had practiced our sailing skills on the larger boats, we had shown great skills to sail solo. All students showed great teamwork and no one capsized the boats in the strong conditions. Another great sailing camp complete.

CAMPING

Year 9 and 10 OES students recently practiced their camping skills with a sleep over on the school grounds.  ⛺️

It is always a great night with plenty of games of spotlight tiggy and 40-40 home. Students used the Trangia’s to cook their meals, which ranged from spaghetti bolognese🍝 , to steamed dumplings 🥟 and stir fry.
