Acting Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Playground Works

Works will commence throughout our school yard next week to install our passive play spaces adjacent to our Foundation classrooms. The works also include a beautification and safety audit of our existing playgrounds. We have our fingers crossed for reasonable weather so that the works can be completed as soon as possible.

F-2 Tabloid Sports

Fine weather is also expected for our F-2 Tabloid Sports on Friday. The children are excited and leaders that have been selected to support the day are just as pleased. All students will be cheering on the races that will conclude the afternoon. Please ensure that you have read the information about Tabloid Sports and we are looking forward to having our school community onsite on Friday.

Communication

Thank you to our families who have reached out for support to connect to all of our communication platforms. If you are experiencing difficulties with any of our platforms, please email the administration team and we will rectify the issue as soon as possible.

School Leaders

We wish our school leaders all the best as they head off to Federation University tomorrow to continue to build their leadership capacity and experiences. We know that yo will represent our school perfectly and we look forward to hearing all about the day and seeing the impact that the experience will have on you as a leader and your peers on return.

Exciting Announcement

Speaking of leaders, Sarah Bigmore and I had the privilege of attending a special announcement that was made by the Deputy Premier, Jacinta Allen, in Miners Rest yesterday morning. A competition grade Sports Precinct has been approved and funded to be developed in the heart of Miners Rest and we were present to hear this wonderful news at the media event. Our school leaders were photographed and interviewed and represented Miners Rest K-6 proudly. Congratulations and thank you to Jet, Ruby, Mia, Sienna, Xavier, Jett, Braxton and Koby for your attendance and representation at this important announcement.
