Mullauna Music

April 2023

All Things Music

Term 1 has absolutely flown by!

Our forty new Year 7 Instrumental Music students are playing in lessons and in Melodic Minors Band. They are certainly off to a flying start with many notes already mastered. The band is sounding terrific, and everyone is having a great time playing music together.

Monday Afternoon Music is a very busy and wonderful time in the Music Centre with multiple rehearsals scheduled throughout this time. Concert Band attendance each Tuesday has also been outstanding this term and they are sounding fabulous.

Mullauna College is hosting its Open Night on Thursday 4th May and we plan to showcase our Woodwind Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and Stage Band. Small chamber ensembles of woodwind and brass will also be featured.  There is a fantastic buzz around the college on this evening and we invite you to come along and enjoy the evening with us.

Many senior students have signed up to the Hamer Hall performance opportunity on Monday 29th May. This promises to be a very exciting event for the students and families involved so watch out for the photos and reports at the time.

Our next Mullauna College music concert is planned for Thursday 18th May. Students will be required at 6.30pm in full winter school uniform (however no jackets or sports uniforms on stage). The concert will start at 7:00pm and although we have so much amazing music to share, we will endeavour to finish by 8:30pm.

Rehearsals begin Week 1 of Term 2, so Monday Afternoon Music will run on the first day of term and Year 7 Band Melodic Minors on the first Wednesday - working around the Anzac Day holiday.

We hope you have an enjoyable term break with the sounds of your child’s instrument being played throughout.
