Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.

Thank you for the gifts of our school,

our environment, our families and friends.

May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.

Mary our Mother, pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.

Amen

This year’s theme for C.E.Sandhurst schools is

“Let the words you speak always be full of grace.”

As we continue to spread the Good News, we are called to be people of dialogue,

using our words as instruments of love.

We will encourage those in our care to speak kindly to one another in the classroom, the playground, on the bus, in the car and at home.

Catholic Identity Weeks 2 & 3 Term 2

After Lent and Easter, when we reflect on renewal, preparation and reflection, we still have white on our prayer tablets in the church's calendar until the end of May. During Pentecost, we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating. When Jesus returned to visit his disciples, tongues of the Holy Spirit were cast on them, and they spoke in different languages. I wanted to reflect on how I have seen the Holy Spirit at work in our school over the last two weeks.

Catholic Education Week and Mother’s Day Mass

The Mass we had on Friday to celebrate Catholic Education Week and the beginning of Mother’s Day was well planned by Mrs Brooke and led by the Gr 3/4 children. Well done on a lovely celebration for our whole community. The students read well and the songs were fitting for the occasion. It was pleasing to see many mothers and grandmother’s able to join Mrs Fraser in the Staffroom for cuppa and morning tea of scones and slices after Mass.

It has been lovely to see the students settle into this term so eager to learn and re-establish their friendships.
