Holy Week & Easter

It has been wonderful week with all classes sharing the story of Holy Week with the rest of the school through our daily liturgies.

Our Preps sang 'Sing it Hosanna' with great enthusiasm as they told the story of Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem.

Our Year 1/2's together told us how Jesus and His friends shared a Passover meal and then how the soliders took Jesus away from the Garden.

Today we prayed the Stations of the Cross led by our Year 3-6s. The 14th Station has left Jesus buried in the tomb. We all left the liturgy in silence and reverence as we await the joy and celebration of Easter Sunday - either this Sunday or next Sunday for the Orthodox communities.

Easter is the most significant feast on the Christian calendar. It is central to our faith, as it is through His rising, Jesus conquered death and redeemed us from sin. As a a school community we will share an Easter Liturgy at our Monday Assembly on the first day of Term 2.

Our Easter Prayer

Alleluia! Alleluia!

God made you and God made me,

He made the world for us to see.

God loves you and long ago,

He sent his Son to tell us so.

Jesus showed us many things,

To love and share and dance and sing.

To learn and pray, to help and care,

He promised he’d always be there.

He died but then came back to life,

Let's celebrate for he’s alive!

Alleluia! Alleluia!
