What a week it has been celebrating Book Week with this year's theme “Dreaming With Eyes Open...”. Thank you for your amazing efforts supporting the children to explore and engage with rich literature and have fun with everything 'reading'!
Don't forget that tomorrow, Friday 19th of August from 3pm, we are inviting all families to come in to our school to share their favourite books. Feel free to bring along some of your family favourites to share with the children. The children will be in their own classrooms, feel free to wander from one to the other, if you have more than one child.
Congratulations to the following students on winning prizes for 'Best Dressed' in their grades! It was a tough decision for our guest judges this year, as there are so many crafty and creative minds in our community! Check out the amazing costumes below.
The competitions are well underway, and the students are putting all their energy into guessing the teachers' favourite books. See if you can have a go at home.
Yesterday, we had Nicky Johnston visit our school to share her amazing stories and illustrations with our children. They had a great time learning all the tricks of the trade from one of Australia's own. You can find Nicky's books in our school library or buy them online.
Today, some of our very brave students in Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 participated in an online spelling bee. We will be waiting patiently to see if anyone has progressed to the next round, after this round finishes next week and certificates will be given out at assembly. Stay tuned.
