Cessnock City Council School Leaders Breakfast

On Monday the 1st of August, School Captains Paul Jiminez and Sharra Gibson and Vice Captains Aidan Sneesby and Meila Connolly attended the School Leaders Breakfast hosted by Cessnock City Council. Students were extremely lucky to attend and listen to the guest speaker Kurt Fearnley AO. Kurt spoke about his life experiences where he showed immense amounts of grit and how he was able to overcome challenging situations. Kurt explained what it takes to be a leader and his speech was extremely inspiring to listen to. After the speech, KKHS School Leaders were fortunate enough to meet Kurt, have a chat with him and get a photo.

Cake Stall Fundraiser

On the 19th of August, the SRC put on a cake stall in the quad to raise money for Hunter Valley Animal Facility and Rehoming Centre. This organisation is run by one of the valued Administrative Assistants in the office at KKHS, so students felt very strongly about raising money for a significant member of the school community. As well as a cake stall in the quad, a raffle was held to win a large Euro Patisserie cake. This fundraiser had great success with the SRC raising $354.
