Catholic Identity and Mission

Season of Creation

The Season “Celebration” begins on 1 September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.

It is a worldwide Christian celebration of prayer and action for our common home.

This year, the theme for the season is ‘Listen to the Voice of Creation’.

We give thanks for all that God has made, repent for the damage that we have caused and commit ourselves to take action to protect the earth our common home.

PRAYER

Lord, allow our eyes to see the beauty of creation, in flowers, creatures, forests, and cities. Allow our ears to listen to those in need. Allow our voices to speak out for justice when we see the earth and people mistreated. Allow our hands to care for the earth. Allow out feet to take your message out to the world.

We ask this in Your name. Amen

Religious Literacy Assessment Tool (ReLAT)

On Wednesday 21st September  our school will be participating in an assessment in Religious Education for all students in Year 4 in Catholic schools in South Australia. Religious Education is a core Learning Area in all Catholic schools. It is a foundation for all learning and is integrated into the life of the school through prayer, liturgy and social justice programs.

The assessment, is for students in Year 4. ReLAT is designed to assess some of the basic knowledge taught in Religious Education lessons. The ReLAT assessment tool is an online multiple-choice test with 35 questions.  The data from the ReLAT assessment will be collated and used by the school to inform whole-of-school professional learning needs and the continuous improvement of teaching in Religious Education.
