Year 6 into 7 Transition

This term the Year 6 – 7 Transition team has had a lovely time preparing for the arrival of approximately 350 Year 7s to our College in 2023. We have visited many of our feeder primary schools so that we could meet our new students in person.  Year 6 teachers have been busy providing us with detailed information about each new student so that we can make sure we provide the best transition possible for the future leaders of our College and our wider community.

Our Year 11 VCAL Personal Development students have hosted two small school transition sessions. With students from Tatura Primary School, Kialla Central Primary School, Congupna Primary School, SELC and Mooroopna North Primary School (to name but a few) visiting. Our VCAL students took our Year 6 visitors on a tour of Dharnya Neighbourhood, enjoyed lunch with them and made Sun Smart bracelets.

Congratulations to our VCAL students demonstrating our College Values of Aspiration, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility. Everyone who was involved thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.  We will be hosting our larger primary schools in Term Four for similar sessions.

A Year 7 2023 Family Information Evening was held on Wednesday 31st August, hosted by our College Captains. It was wonderful to see such a large turnout of families on quite a cold evening. Year 7 Enrolment Packs were distributed to attending families. We will be distributing the rest of the enrolment packs to primary schools next week.   Thanks to our College Captains for their great participation in the evening.

On Wednesday 31 August we invited Year 6 teachers and transition teams for an afternoon tea. Thanks to our College Captains and Multicultural Student Leaders who took our guests on a College Tour, and answered questions.  Yet another example of the great way that our College Community works together to ensure great outcomes.
