Principal's Report

Dear Families,

FATHER'S DAY STALL

Wednesday’s Father’s Day Stall was a great success. Thank you to all those families who donated items for the stall and all those parents who came along to help. The students certainly loved the opportunity to purchase something special for Father’s Day.

THANK YOU

This is Ms Jarvis’s final week with us, as Mrs Bathman returns next week. We would like to thank her very much for her commitment to her role over the past 8 weeks. She has gone above and beyond what is expected of a replacement teacher during her time here. It certainly has been appreciated.

FINANCIAL AUDIT RESULTS

Our Agreed Upon Procedures report has arrived. We are very pleased to announce that we met all the requirements. Bree did an amazing job providing the team with an extensive range of reports in a very short time span.

WHOLE SCHOOL EXCURSION

We have decided on a local excursion this year. Many of the venues we investigated involved exposing students and staff to enclosed spaces with numerous other people in attendance. It was decided that this was not in the best interests of students and staff during this climate. Staff also thought it would be beneficial for students to explore their local community. It was also felt, that the with additional free activities this year, the students were being well catered for with a range of experiences. These include:

o             Lord Somers activity day – 1st September (Positive Start Program PSP)

o             ASHEfest 2022 - 7th & 8th October

o             Soccer Clinic – 26th October (PSP)

o             Grade 3 / 4 Camp – 23rd -25th November Campaspe Down

o             Grade 5/6 Camp- 7th-11th November, Anglesea

o             Grade 3-6 Camp- 14th-16th December Phillip Island

PARENT OPINION SURVEY

I encourage those families who were selected to participate part in the survey take the time to complete it. At this stage we have only had  30% response rate.

 LONG SERVICE LEAVE

I have applied for and have had approved the first 4 weeks of Term 4. Craig will be Acting Prin whilst I am away. Robyn Lipshut has been employed for those weeks to support Craig and Filippa in the Grade 6 classroom.

TIMETABLE TRIAL

We have commenced trialing an altered timetable which several schools have adopted. It allows for 1hr blocks in the classroom, a shortened lunch time and an additional 15-minute break in the afternoon.

Have a great weekend,

Regards Heather
